Water Supply To Be Cut In Some Parts Of Thane

Residents of Thane are likely to face water scarcity. With this in mind, the administration has planned 12 hours of water supply from the STEM Authority.

Due to repair work, the water supply will be cut off for 24 hours in some parts of Thane. Sludge and debris are stuck in the mouth of the pump at the water treatment plant on the Bhatsa river basin, the corporation has thus undertaken the work of removing it. Therefore, the water supply from the corporation will be closed for 24 hours on Wednesday.

Owing to heavy rains, garbage and sludge are stuck in the mouth of the pump, pumping water from the river basin. This makes it arduous for the municipality to draw enough water, as a result of which Thane city has been experiencing a low water supply for the last four to five days.

Thus, the water supply department of the municipality has taken up the task to remove the sludge and garbage, work for which will begin on Wednesday morning. Therefore, reports claim that from 9 am on Wednesday, August 11 to 9 am on Thursday, August 12, the water supply will be shut.

Since the locals may face scarcity, the administration has planned 12 hours of water supply from the STEM Water Authority. Accordingly, on Wednesday 11th August from 9 am to 9 pm, STEM water supply will continue in Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Hiranandani Estate, Brahmand, Vijayanagari, Gaimukh, Gandhinagar, Sukarpada, Balkum, Majiwada, Manpada, Kothari Compound, Pawarnagar and Azadnagar. Similarly, STEM water supply will continue from 9 pm on Wednesday, August 11 to 9 am on Thursday, August 12 in Kalwa, Saket, Rituparna, Siddheshwar, Jail Tank area, Johansson area, Internet area, Samta Nagar and some other parts.
