The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) announced that the water supply in the city will be closed for 24 hours on Wednesday, August 25. 

Taking it to Twitter, the civic body said that for installation of increased capacity pumping machinery and other essential works at Raw Water Pumping Station at Pise in Thane district’s Bhiwandi area, on Wednesday 25 August 2021 from 9.00 am to Thursday, dated August 26, 2021. 

In its official statement, TMC said that the water supply in its own scheme will be stopped till 9.00 am every day and during this period water supply will continue only through STEM Authority.

In addition to the installation of pumping machinery of increased capacity in the raw water pumping station of Thane Municipal Corporation at Pise, other necessary works will also be done.

Therefore, the water will be supplied at low pressure for the next one to two days till the water supply is restored.

STEM water distribution and infa. Co. Prof. Ltd will continue the water supply on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm in Indiranagar, Jailtaki, Rutupark, Saket and Mumbra. 

Apart from this, water supply to Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Hiranandani Estate, Bramhand, Vijayanagari, Gaimukh, Balkum, Samtanagar, Aakriti, Siddheshwar, Johnson, Internet, Kolshet and Azadnagar from 9 pm on Wednesday, August 25, to 9 am on Thursday, August 26 will continue.

The water supply department has appealed to the citizens to use water sparingly and cooperate with the municipality.
