It is going to be a challenging weekend for Mumbaikars as there might be a 30-hour long water cut in several parts of the city. People staying in Bandra, Matunga and Dharavi areas may not get water supply from Friday morning till Saturday.

The cause of this water cut is that Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to carry out work on fixing one of its leaking main.  The officials said that for this work, the water lines will be completely shut from Friday 10:00 AM to Saturday 4:00 PM. People living in Bandra railway terminus supply zone, Matunga Labour Camp area and also Dharavi are likely to be impacted through this. It is advisable that they store water for their daily needs before the cut.

There is also a proposal from BMC to carry out works of arresting of leakages on a 2400-mm Upper Vaitarna water main near Teacher's Colony in Santacruz east. However, there is no word on whether that too will happen from tomorrow or will they pick another day for the same.
