Mumbai Local News: 3092 cases of ticketless travel registered in a single day at Thane

Mumbai Division of Central Railway (CR) conducted an intensive Ticket checking drive at Thane Railway Station o­n October 9, 2023.

Nearly 120 Ticket checking Staff comprising Supervisors and Three officers Arun Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Deepak Sharma, Divisional Commercial Manager, and Douglas Menezes Assistant Commercial Manager and 30 RPF staff were in the team.

During this ticket checking drive results in penalizing 3092 cases of ticketless/unauthorized travel registering a revenue of INR 8,66,405 in a single day between 7 am to 11 pm.

On the other hand, the CR recently witnessed a remarkable surge in the usage of the Mobile Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) App among commuters during the period from April to August 2023 as compared to the same period in 2022. 

To ensure comfortable travel and better services to all bonafide rail users, Mumbai division conducts intensive ticket checking in Suburban, Mail Express, Passenger services, special trains a to curb ticketless and irregular travel.

This has been possible due to the dedicated and committed work by our Ticket checking  
Staff backed by numerous cases of honesty, rescue of children / minors and lifesaving acts which has helped put forward a very positive image of Railways.

Central Railway appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity.
