Kandivali - Its been 10 years and still the shutters are down on Mahavirnagar market. Bmc had spent around 4 crores building this market which seemed to go down the drain due to its ignorance the construction of this market took 6 years to complete.It was finally ready in 2006, but there are no efforts on Bmc's part to make this place functional. Windows and doors are stolen, and the area is filled with stink. The place was touted to benefit public and hawkers but hawkers are not so, optimistic about its prospects. According to elderly local social worker Mr. Mishra this place seemed to be created to facilitate drug addicts , illegitimate activities and illegal parking ..All attempts of resident market committee,ward office and followup with concerned officials have fallen on deaf ears ,he concluded .
