Central Railway (CR)'s Mumbai Division with 167 Ticket checking Staff and Two officers Arun Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Douglas Menezes Assistant Commercial Manager (Ticket Checking) along with 35 RPF staff were in the team of intensive Ticket checking drive at Kalyan Railway Station o­n October 16, 2023.

During this ticket checking drive results in penalising 4438 cases of ticketless/unauthorized travel registering a revenue of INR 16.85 lakhs in a single day.

Moreover, during the current FY 2023-24 for month of September 2023, a total of 3.08 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel and unbooked luggage were detected. The revenue collected from the ticket checking drive was ₹17.31 Crore.

To ensure comfortable travel & better services to all bonafide rail users, Mumbai division conducts intensive ticket checking in Suburban, Mail Express, Passenger services, special trains a to curb ticketless and irregular travel.

This has been possible due to the dedicated and committed work by our Ticket checking

Staff backed by numerous cases of honesty, rescue of children / minors and lifesaving acts which has helped put forward a very positive image of Railways.

Central Railway appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity.

Besides, CR has kept its momentum of giving its best performance in commercial revenue consistent. During the first 6 Months of the current financial year i.e., from April to September 2023-24 Central Railway registered revenue of INR 8568.41 Crores as against revenue of INR 7395.18 Crores which is 15.86% more compared to the same period.
