Since the 'Marathi Manus' is being denied accommodation in newly constructed housing complexes, the 'Marathi Manus’ has started migrating from Mumbai in large numbers. Therefore, to stop this migration, 50 percent of the houses in every new building constructed in Mumbai should be reserved for 'Marathi people’, such a non-government bill was proposed by Shiv Sena Thackeray group leader Advocate Anil Parab.

Anil Parab has told the Legislative Secretariat that at some places in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Marathi people have been refused accommodation in new housing complexes. Parab has said that there is a need to make such a law that 50 percent of the houses in new buildings should be reserved for Marathi people.

Parab, in his bill proposal, has said that the developer will have to fulfil the responsibility of keeping these houses reserved and if he fails to do so, he should be fined INR 10 lakh and jailed for six months.

Advocate Anil Parab said that creating any kind of discrimination in the society is unconstitutional. It has become difficult for a Marathi person to even buy a house on rent. Therefore, it is necessary for the government to make such a law to protect the right to justice of 'Marathi Manus'. The monsoon session is starting from June 27, and this issue is likely to be discussed.
