COVID-19 in Mumbai: 9 Pregnant Women Tested Positive In Last 10 Days

Cama and Albless Hospital and SevenHills Hospital in the city have set aside beds to treat pregnant women with COVID-19.

In the past two weeks, nine pregnant women in Mumbai have tested positive for COVID-19, indicating a rise in cases among expectant mothers. Cama and Albless Hospital and SevenHills Hospital in the city have set aside beds to treat pregnant women with COVID-19.

At Cama and Albless Hospital, which is situated in Fort area of South Bombay, six pregnant women tested positive in the last 10 days. The medical superintendent, Dr Tushar Palve has urged expectant mothers to get tested for moderate fever and breathing difficulties and not to ignore symptoms.

Patients have reported cough and fever, and testing is conducted after they are admitted to the isolation ward. However, everyone is doing well, and the infants have tested negative.

Meanwhile, three cases of pregnant women with COVID-19 were seen at SevenHills Hospital in Vile Parle. Dr. Niranjan Chavan, president of the Mumbai Obstetric and Gynaecological Society, recommends that pregnant women seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms.

Early detection and treatment are crucial for pregnant women with COVID-19. Cama and Albless Hospital has already been examining and treating coronavirus expectant mothers. Therefore, pregnant women should not be alarmed as recovery generally takes between 5 to 7 days.
