The couple, who got married eight days ago, had come to Bhuikot fort in Naldurg in Tuljapur taluka for a walk. An unfortunate incident took place on Monday morning when a newly married woman lost her balance due to a gust of wind while taking a selfie photo from the top tower of the fort and fell down from the tower to her death.


Amir Shaikh of Hangarga (Tul) in Tuljapur taluka had come to the fort with his wife and two relatives to see the fort. Amir Sheikh and his wife Nilofar Sheikh got married eight days ago, on May 20. They had come to see the fort of Naladurg to go for a walk. After going to the fort, he inspected other places. Then around 11.30 am went to Upali Buruja which is the highest in the fort. After going to Upali Buruj here, the newly married Nilofar was tempted to take a selfie from the Buruj. At this time the wind was blowing.

After going to the tower to take a selfie, Nilofar Sheikh lost her balance and fell down from the tower and got seriously injured. At this time, her husband Amir Sheikh and two other relatives were also on the tower. On getting the information about the incident, the employees of Unity Multicons Company and Nilofer's relatives who were there immediately took the injured Nilofer to the hospital from the vehicles in the fort. But Nilofar died before being taken to the hospital.
