According to the latest reports, on Wednesday, May 11, the Maharashtra cabinet asked the departments to see to it that the beneficiaries of the schemes implemented by them are linked with the Aadhar by December 30, 2022.

Based on accounts, scholarships given to students through schemes for various departments will be credited into their Aadhar linked accounts through the Direct benefit transfer from January 2023. Officials have been quoted in narratives elaborating on how this is being undertaken to ensure that none of the eligible beneficiaries is left out of the scheme.

Additionally, they also hope that this ensures that those who do not meet the criteria are not provided with the benefits. It has been reported that the Maharashtra government had made an announcement in the same regard during the recent budget session.

The women and child development, school education, social justice, tribal and OBC welfare departments have reportedly implemented multiple schemes. These departments have been told to finish their procedure of linking the beneficiary's name through schemes without the Aadhar cards, reports stated.

Moreover, departments that concern themselves with nutrition schemes have been told to enable GPS tracking of their vehicles by December 30. What's more, is that department secretaries have been informed to keep their master database of the beneficiaries updated by the month's end.
