On Sunday night, the roof of Samarth Babuji Maharaj Sansthan Temple in Akola collapsed due to heavy rain and strong winds. In this incident, seven people died and five people were seriously injured. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis informed that the families of the deceased in this incident will be financially assisted. He was talking to the media in Mumbai.


What did Devendra Fadnavis say?

The incident in Akola is painful. Instructions have been given that the injured in this incident should get treatment in a good hospital. The cost of their treatment will be borne by the state government. The families of the deceased citizens will be given assistance from the Chief Minister's Aid Fund. Devendra Fadnavis also responded that the incident will be investigated.


Assistance of INR 4 lakh to the families of deceased persons

Family members of deceased persons will be given INR 4 lakh, devotees with more than 60% disability will be given INR 250,000 and those with 40 to 60% disability will be given INR 74,000. Also, if the hospital stay is for more than one week, then INR 16,000 will be given and INR 5,400 will be given if the hospital stay is for less than one week, the administration has informed.


What exactly happened in Akola on Sunday?

On Sunday evening, the aarti was going on in Babuji Maharaj Sansthan at Paras village in Balapur taluka of Akola. A big neem tree adjacent to the temple suddenly uprooted and fell on the tin shed. So 40 to 50 people under the shed were crushed. On getting information about the incident, senior officers and police administration reached the spot and started rescue operations. The injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital.
