Amitabh Bachchan, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Reckitt Benckiser and Network 18 Launch 'Mission Paani'

'Mission Paani' campaign aims at spreading awareness about water conservation and witnessed views about it from dignitaries like Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Sadhguru.

In a recent event that was held at JW Marriot in Juhu, Amitabh Bachchan, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Network 18 Launched 'Mission Paani' with an aim to bring awareness about the conservation of water. 

One of the greatest challenges that humanity is doomed with is that taps run dry in some regions. While many grapples with the basic need for cooking, washing, drinking and even farming, there are many more facing the calamities of climate, as floods and lashing storms ravage homes and landscapes.

The launch of 'Mission Paani' featured video interactions with Jal Shakti MInister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Sadhguru.

With a three-fold objective Mission Paani will focus on:

1. Know- Raise awareness in order to make it a mass movement. 

2. Act- Take the Jal Pratigya (pledge to conserve water) 

3. Impact- Highlight innovative pilot projects with measurable change. 

Speaking about the campaign, Amitabh Bachchan who is the campaign ambassador said, 

While some of us have been fortunate enough to have water to fulfil all of our needs, there are close to 600 million people in our country who face water scarcity every day. Keeping that in mind, I believe that it is our duty and responsibility to preserve water for these people as well as our future generations. It is the small changes that will lead to a national transformation, which can also lead to impactful results. With this campaign, each of us should pledge our support to the cause of water conservation in the country.
