In order to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers, Shree Swami Samarth Shetkari Sanghatna company and Antyoday Pratisthan Sant Shiromani Sawtamali organise weekly farmers market around Mumbai. This weekend they have set up a market at Shivaji Park.
Apart from fresh vegetables, one will get to buy fresh Alphonso mangoes at a nominal price. This was initiated by the state government to uplift the farmers by selling their produce directly to consumers without any middlemen. On 6 May, from 10 am to 10 pm, one will get to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.
