Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has challenged Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke to identify the BJP leaders or workers who allegedly threatened him or pressured him to join the party, warning against making what he described as baseless allegations against the BJP.
Responding to Dipke's claims, Bawankule said the BJP would not tolerate attempts to tarnish its image without evidence. He said that if any BJP worker was found to have issued such threats, strict disciplinary action would be taken, but Dipke must first disclose the names of those involved.
Bawankule also denied allegations that the BJP had offered Dipke a place in the party. He maintained that the BJP, with its large membership base, had no reason to resort to such tactics and insisted that any genuine complaint would be investigated impartially.
The remarks came after Dipke alleged that he and his family had received threats after he refused to join the BJP, triggering a fresh political controversy in Maharashtra.
