In the wake of the G-20 summit meet, the Mumbai Traffic Police has announced new traffic restrictions on several roads in the city and Suburbs.

From today, December 12 until December 16, there will be restrictions on vehicular movement as G-20 members will be visiting during this period, the notification stated. However, emergency vehicles are the exception to all these road closures.

Impact on traffic in South Mumbai

In the South Mumbai area on Tuesday, December 13, members will visit Hotel Taj Palace in Colaba, as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg, P. Ramchandani Marg, BK Boman Behram Marg, Adam Street and Mahakavi Bhushan Marg may experience traffic jams.

'These' roads closed:

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg section from the junction of Regal Junction will be closed for northbound and southbound vehicular traffic.

Adam Street (Electric Pole No. AS-5) between Boman Behram Road Junction and Mahakavi Bhushan Marg Junction will be closed for vehicular traffic. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed.

Mandalik Street to Boman Behram Road is also closed for traffic.

The fourth closed road is Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg to Mahakavi Bhushan Marg Junction.

What are the alternative ways?

From Regal Circle to South - Mahakavi Bhushan Marg - Taj Palace - Boman Behram Road - Alva Chowk - Electric House - SBS Road

The fourth closed route is Bombay Presidency Club (Radio Club) to Adam Street Junction – and the alternate route is Azmi Road – Bhid Bhanjan Mandir – SBS Road.


Impact on traffic in the Western Suburbs

In the Western Suburbs - Wakola, within the jurisdiction of the Transport Department, where the G-20 members are expected to arrive and depart, stay and meet, Hotel Grand Hyatt, Kalina, Santa Cruz (East), the police have announced that entry and no-parking restrictions will be imposed on Monday 12 midnight. They will be from December 16 to 4 p.m.

'These' roads closed

There will be 'No Entry' and 'No Parking' for all types of vehicles from Hanuman Mandir, Nehru Road to Vakola Pipe Line Road to Hotel Grand Hyatt.

What are the alternative ways?

An alternative route is to take a right turn from Kalina Junction towards Ambedkar Junction or Hansbhugra Road.

Similarly, the old C.S.T. Vehicles coming from Road to Hotel Grand Hyatt Road which will take right from Hansbhugra Junction and proceed via Vakola Junction towards Nehru Road, Santacruz Station or Western Express Highway.

Vehicles coming from Hotel Grand Hyatt Road (Chhatrapati Shivaji Nagar Road) from Patak College Junction at Nehru Road to Hotel Grand Hyatt should take right at Kalina Junction from Military Junction and proceed towards Ambedkar Junction or Hansbhugra Road.
