Bandra residents can now enjoy a longer walking track at Carter Road. This is possible now as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished a compound wall of Otters Club. The wall stood between Carter Road and Joggers Park wherein the carter road extended only up to 1.6 km. After the demolition, people will now have an uninterrupted 4 km walk.

The civic authorities had asked Otters Club to move its boundary wall inside which was formerly the club's carriageway. After the demolition, a person can walk on the Joggers Park and reach up to Khar Danda. Notably, Otters Club which was founded in 1973 by Lalu Bajaj had been given 5,000 sq.m. of land on lease by the civic authorities. The club authorities had given an undertaking that they will handover the land whenever it is needed. They are now planning to keep plants as a boundary for club members so that they can enter the club without any disturbances. Currently, Mustafa Asirwala is the President of the club. It is equipped with a library, gymnasium, squash court, snooker and pool room along with several restaurants and an outdoor poolside area.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has simultaneously taken up improvement works at Joggers Park which is slated to be completed by May this year. The plan includes a 240-m synthetic track, 180-m pathway in basalt stone, clay track restoration, ornamental grills, decorative lights, decorative roof, 12 artistic sculptures, duck pond renovation and a renovated playing area for kids.

Local residents have termed this move as a 'pro-citizen and pro-open space'. Many residents have expressed their happiness and have stated that they have been waiting for it since the last two decades.
