BDD Chawl residents oppose redevelopment work

Residents of Lower Parel and Naigaon have raised the question on the working of BDD Chawl redevelopment. The government announced bhoomipujan for the BDD Chawl redevelopment project. Residents have termed the development work as authoritarian. The residents will protest on 9 April at Naigaon and 11 April at Delisle road.

BDD Chawl residents organised meeting in Lalit Kala Bhavan on N M Joshi Marg on Monday night. Under the redevelopment project, over 16,000 families living in BDD Chawls will get bigger houses while hundreds of additional flats will be sold in open market. BDD Chawl residents have appealed in the court.
