A cleanliness campaign has been undertaken in Bhiwandi city and under this campaign, 800 kg of plastic banned by the Bhiwandi Nijampur Municipal Corporation has been seized. Also, a fine of INR 35 thousand has been recovered from the concerned shopkeepers. In Bhiwandi city, Municipal Commissioner Ajay Vaidya has undertaken a special cleanliness campaign through the civic body. Under this cleanliness drive, there is a resolution to make Bhiwandi plastic free. 

On Thursday, according to the order of BNCMC Commissioner Ajay Vaidya, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Sanjay Herwade, the municipal team conducted a special campaign in all areas of Nazarana Compound, Shivaji Nagar, Gurudev Farsan Mart, Bhiwandi Cinema Complex, Tinbatti Market, Bombay Farsan Mart.

Penal action is taken if single use plastic is found to be used three times. But at the fourth time a legal offense can be registered as per rules. Municipal Additional Commissioner Sanjay Herwade informed that the action will continue like this.
