The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has yet again prolonged the deadlines for the submission of bids to lease two consolidated commercial plots from G-Block of the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), reported the Indian Express.

The extended deadline now stands at August 31. Prior in April, the authority had prolonged the deadline to June 30 from May 14. Although the tenders were invited in September 2019, because of the coronavirus pandemic, positive responses weren’t garnered from affected parties.

The report states that according to the MMRDA, the total plot area is 6,018.90 square meters with the built-up area of these combined plots to be 30,000 square meters. Similarly, Rs 3.44 lakh is the reserved price per square meter.

An official from the MMRDA is said to have elaborated that whilst the earnest money deposit (EMD) through bank guarantee is Rs 20 crore, the whole EMD is through online transfer that is Rs 5 lakh. This is to be paid for involvement in bidding.

According to the report, a source has claimed that the MMRDA is trying hard to sell these plots.

Earlier, three individual plots that included C-44, C-48 and C-65 were put for an invitation, however, considering that reactions for C-44 and C-48 weren’t attained, the authority combined the plots to lure bidders. But responses are still awaited.
