On the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Mumbai on Sunday, people were seen flying kites on the roofs, grounds and open spaces of the building. However, 64 birds have been injured due to this and most of the pigeons were injured.

Birds like Black Kite, Owl and Cuckoo were injured. However, among the injured ones, most of these were pigeons. 57 injured pigeons were treated and released at Kabutarkhana. Among the injured, seven birds are seriously injured, including two Black Kites, two Cuckoos, two Pigeons and one Owl confirmed Mayur Dangar of the Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals.
