Cityflo, one of largest app-based, daily bus commute company, announced that commuters can book metro tickets across the Mumbai and Delhi networks directly within the Cityflo app. The integration, enabled through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), brings scheduled bus and metro travel into a single application, and marks a further step in Cityflo's approach to treating the daily commute as one connected journey rather than a series of separate trips.

The rollout covers Mumbai Metro Line 1, Lines 2A, 7 and 9, and Line 3, the Aqua Line, along with the Delhi Metro. Within the app, a commuter can look up a route, book a QR ticket for a one-way or round-trip journey, complete payment, and present the code at the station gate.

Up to six tickets can be issued in a single booking, and no additional booking fee applies at launch.

Urban commutes are rarely served by a single mode. Most journeys across Mumbai and Delhi combine a bus, a train, and a walk, and the friction has long sat in the gaps between them: the separate queues, the separate tickets, the separate apps. Cityflo has spent the last decade operating reserved, app-based bus commutes for working professionals, and understands those gaps from the commuter's side. Bringing metro ticketing into the same app is a deliberate extension of that work.

The step also builds on Cityflo's working relationship with Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL). The two organisations have been working closely together on feeder bus connectivity to Aqua Line stations, helping commuters cover the first and last mile between the metro and their homes and workplaces. This integration carries that partnership from the road into the app. The customer whom Cityflo already helps reach the station can now reserve the metro ticket while on the bus to the station. Physical connectivity and digital access, drawn from a single partnership.

“We welcome Cityflo’s integration of Mumbai Metro ticketing through ONDC, which builds on our ongoing partnership to strengthen first- and last-mile connectivity to the Aqua Line. Bringing feeder bus connectivity and metro ticketing together through a single platform can make everyday journeys more seamless and convenient for commuters, while giving them greater choice in how they plan and complete their journeys. Such initiatives support our broader objective of making Mumbai’s public transport network more integrated, accessible and commuter-centric.” said R. Ramana, Director (Planning & Real Estate Dev./NFBR), MMRC.

"We have always seen Cityflo as part of the wider public transport system, not a substitute for it. Since our launch, we’ve connected commuters to and from the city's busiest transit corridors, and with MMRCL we have worked to connect our buses to the Aqua Line with commercial centres. Enabling metro ticketing within our app is the natural continuation of that role. Our responsibility is to make the whole commute simpler, and an open network like ONDC lets us do that in partnership with the operators who run these services." said Rushabh Shah, CBO & Co-founder, Cityflo.

Metro ticketing is available now within the Cityflo app across the Mumbai and Delhi networks.
