A special block of 2 hours will be carried out again on November 21, on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This block will be taken from 12 noon to 2 am and the traffic towards Pune will be completely closed during this block period. Therefore, the traffic police has appealed to the drivers to use alternative routes. Accidents have been happening continuously on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway for the last few days. It has come to light that accidents are occurring due to careless driving by drivers.


Keeping this in mind, the Road and Transport Development Corporation has taken up the responsibility of installing CCTV cameras at various places on the expressway. Work is underway to install cameras and sign boards to monitor every movement of vehicles. Special blocks are being taken for these works.Light to heavy vehicle traffic from Mumbai to Pune will be diverted for 2 hours during the block period. Vehicular traffic will be diverted from Shedung Phata on National Highway No. 48 on the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway via Shingroba Ghat at the Expressway Magic Point and rerouted to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

Traffic from Mumbai to Pune will be restored after completion of the gantry installation work i.e. after 2 pm. Lakhs of vehicles travel on the Mumbai-Pune highway every day. But today, due to traffic closure on this highway for 2 hours, the drivers are going to face a lot of trouble.
