The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collaborated with a non-profit, Project mumbai to launch a COVID-19 vaccination campaign in school for those between the age of 12-14. The initiative named, “At Your School Doorstep” enables school principals to avail of this free service. They can do so by sending an email to highschoolvaccination@gmail.com.

With this, the vaccination campaign has been brought to the beneficiaries’ doorsteps, which is at the school. A Request Letter should be sent from the School Director or Principal which mentions the approximate number of beneficiaries.

Moreover, the school authorities have to inform the parents regarding the coronavirus vaccination campaign being conducted in schools. This will enable the parents to send their children to the school for inoculation on the slated date.

The NGO will be facilitating the complete COVID-19 vaccination process. The BMC will be providing the vaccination free of cost.

India had extended its coronavirus vaccination drive to include those between the age of 12-14 from March 16. For this age group, the vaccination to be administered is Corbevax. Administered through an intramuscular route with two doses scheduled 28 days apart, it is seen by medical experts as an essential step in boosting the children’s immunity.
