Unhappy with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) standing committee’s decision with regards to the proposal of garbage, the civic body commissioner Ajoy Mehta decided not to send any proposals to the committee for an approval.
Along with this, he has written to the Secretary department asking them to retrieve nearly 20 proposals that have been sent to the standing committee for an approval.

According to sources, last Wednesday, the standing committee rejected two proposals --- H (West) & K (West) ward --- worth ₹166 Cr and ₹96 Cr of discarding waste in dumping ground. While this was being done, additional commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, who was representing the BMC, was not allowed to make his point and rejected the proposals.
On Friday, furious BMC commissioner wrote to all departments to keep their proposals on hold.
