BMC Commissioner issues orders to clear debris from the roads

As is seen of late that majority of pathways in Mumbai are undergoing redevelopment, which is why a good quantum of debris gets piled up on the roads. While remaining of the revamping work will be finished off by 15 May, the debris collected just adds to problems of the commuters who go to and fro across the city. BMC Commissioner, Ajoy Mehta has ordered to clear off this debris soon. The responsibility of this is entrusted to the Zone Deputy Commissioner and Chief Engineer. Moreover, in this regard, Commissioner Ajay Mehta had a discussion with the Zone Deputy Commissioner and Chief Engineer and critically analysed the task. Further, it was decided that since the left debris hampers the easy commute for the commuters, hence, it should be cleared off immediately.


The Chief Engineer Sheetalaprasad Kori informed that the redevelopment work for 28 bridges out of 30 will be complete by 15 May. The list of these bridges includes Belasis Bridge, Diana Bridge, Kari Road Bridge, Hindmata Bridge, Chinchpokli Bridge, Parel Bridge, Sion Bridge, Gowandi Bridge, Veer Savarkar Bridge of P-South Section. On the other hand, the revamping work for 2.38 km long bridge between Veermata Jijabai Bhosle Udyaan to Parel and for 2.55 km long bridge between Santacruz-Chembur Link Road will be completed by 30 May.
