The tragic incident which took the city by storm, the Kamala Mills fire that took away 14 innocent lives and left more than 50 people critically injured, brought many illegal structures in the area to light. It has been revealed that Mojo Bistro, the pub where the fire broke out was an illegal encroachment. The Police have issued lookout notices against 1 Above pub. Along with this, the accused have also been booked under IPC section 300 (3) for unintentional murder.

The BMC has now woken up from the slumber and is finally back in action. Taking charge against six restaurants, the corporation has pulled down illegal roofs of the ‘Skyview Café’ and ‘Social’ in the Kamala Mills premises.

Pravas, a popular restaurant that resembles a train bogie was razed using an excavator machine. Three other joints encroached in the same locality, ‘Sheesha Sky Lounge’, ‘Fumes’ and ‘Pranay’ in Raghuvanshi Mills were also razed by the BMC.

 

Kamala Mills fire tragedy took lives of 14 people who were enjoying a cosy evening with their dear ones in the restaurant. The incident has also raised alarms in other cities, where local police and municipal officials have began inspecting the pubs and eateries for safety measures, before the nation steps out to welcome the new year.
