According to the latest reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) election department has attained 232 recommendations and objections from citizens and political parties in regards to the reservation draw held for 236 electoral seats conducted recently for the upcoming BMC elections

Officials from the department were quoted in accounts elaborating on how nearly 90 per cent of feedback was received on Monday, June 6 which was the last day for raising recommendations and objections. 

On the other hand, a BMC senior official added that the final reservation ward-wise will be published on June 13 in the Maharashtra gazette. For those unversed, the reservation draw for the 236 electoral wards was conducted on May 31 and citizens were permitted to send their recommendations from June 1 to 6, narratives cite. 

It has been reported that in accordance with data from the election department, 25 suggestions and objections were received from June 1 to 5, while 207 were attained on the last day. 

Likewise, an official from the State Election Commission (SEC) elucidated that hearings on recommendations and objections will not be conducted. Instead, the local body will comprehensively assess and discuss the recommendations and objections. In lieu of this, a resolution will be taken about keeping or altering the ward reservation. The official added that the final list of electoral wards along with the reservations will be published on June 13.
