Here’s List of Key Guidelines Outlined for Public Consideration
1. Holika Dahan - Protecting the Environment While Preserving Tradition:
Do not cut trees. Instead, use dry wood to perform Holika Dahan traditionally. Do not use painted wood, plastic, rubber, tires, and other hazardous materials in the Holi fire. Because the smoke and pollution generated from such components are harmful to health. Housing societies and local groups should perform Holika Dahan in a safe and eco-friendly manner.
2. Adopting Natural Colors - Safe and Healthy Festival:
Use natural (herbal) and organic colors that are safe for the skin. This is especially necessary for children. Artificial colors may contain chemicals and other heavy metals. Therefore, they harm health and water sources. So they should be avoided.
3. Save Water, Avoid Noise Pollution:
While celebrating Dhulvad and Rangpanchami, prioritize dry colors as much as possible. Save as much water as possible by using it responsibly. The volume of musical instruments and music should be within limits so that no one is troubled. Noise limits should be observed, especially in hospitals, residential areas, and sensitive locations.
