The Standing committee on Saturday approved the recruitment proposal for the post of sub-engineer and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will hire 247 candidates for the same.

For almost one and a half month, the advertising process for the promotion of the vacant post will be completed and the online application process will be started.

The Municipal Corporation has appointed Institute of Banking Partial Selection (IBPS) to handle the recruitment process for the post of sub-engineer from open and backward sections of the society. Candidates will be asked to submit an online application and will be selected according to their category wise merit list.

Standing committee Chairman, Ramesh Korgongkar approved the proposal to complete the recruitment process for the vacant sub-engineer posts through IBPS.

City Engineer Chandrashekhar Marathe clarified that standing committee has approved the proposal by the BMC and now the process will be completed in next one and a half months.

Eligible candidates can apply for the given posts -
Sub-Engineer (Civil): 184 seats.
Sub-Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical): 63 seats.

The BMC will charge an examination fee from the candidates -
Exam fee for candidates applying from open Category: ₹300
Exam fee for candidates applying from backward category: ₹600
