After receiving repeated complaints regarding potholes on Mumbai roads, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched a mobile application for the same. In the last few months, the citizens have complained that despite repeated attempts, the civic body has failed to respond to the issue. In response, the municipal corporation decided to increase its efforts to resolve the issue of potholes.

Due to the potholes, Mumbaikars have witnessed accidents whereas several people have faced injuries. Therefore, BMC has decided to launch an application to listen to the complaints and take action against the same quickly.

The application, 'MyBMC Pothole Fixit' has been launched on Google Play Store. The citizens can upload the photos on the application and the civic body will ensure that the pothole is fixed within the designated time period. After which, BMC will take action against the necessary contractors and engineers.

Earlier, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had launched a campaign - ‘Selfie with Khadda (pothole)’ - in Andheri’s Versova. Under this campaign, the person who will get the “best selfie” with potholes will be provided with a cashback.

Between the year 2013 and 2019, the BMC’s the estimated budget for fixing potholes on Mumbai roads was ₹175.50 crore.
