Mumbai - The municipal elections are around the corner and the Election Commission is poised to formulate the code of conduct at any time.
10 proposals worth Rs 324 crore were given the nod by municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta at the meeting of the civic standing committee this week. Rs 74.3 crore will be spent in repairing roads across seven zones. Rs 202 crore will be used for construction of gardens and parks and Rs 48.16 crores in health development. The roads with potholes will be repaired at the earliest. Due to the road scam that rocked the municipal corporation late last year, these proposals were pending. The civic standing committee meeting was opposed by the BJP, Congress and MNS in unison, claiming the proposals were cleared with an eye on the elections.
