BMC shakes off the responsibility

Mumbai- Bogus pathology labs have increased in Mumbai and no action is being taken by the concerned authority (BMC). Maharashtra Association of Practicing pathologist and Microbiologist’s organisation (MAPPM) wrote a letter on 19th October to BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta and bogus doctor search committee which is looked after Ajoy Mehta. They had demanded to take action against bogus doctors who run pathology labs and have also asked to inspect such labs. But BMC’s executive health officer Dr. Padmaja Keskar said they cannot take action against such labs. “This is not acceptable. How can BMC’s health department say that they will not take action against such labs when it is their responsibility”, said Dr. Sandeep Yadav, president, MAPPM .
