Workers did not link Aadhar card

The BMC started biometric attendance last September for which Aadhaar card link up was necessary. However, 3,801 workers, employees and officials did not link their Aadhaar cards and so their attendance was not getting registered.

No attendance, no salary

The civic chief Ajoy Mehta asked the departments not to release the salaries of 3,801 employees and workers who did not link their Aadhaar card. Out of these, officials concerned of 2,153 workers and employees were asked to give the reasons for the same. Some of the officials said that the employees have gone out for election work, some workers are on leave while some have submitted their UID certificate but they have not been updated.

1,600 workers are yet to get salary

However, the civic chief did not receive any explanation of the remaining 1,600 workers and so their salaries of November and December will be on hold.
