The Birhanmumbai Municipal Corporation's standing committee has given a nod for the recruitment of Class IV employees which was put on hold by the same. The committee now will publish an ad and will start the recruitment procedure on Monday.

Water Department, Health Department, Hospitals, Sewage department

Workers, Porter, Maid, Crematorium assistants

Why was the recruitment kept on hold?

The proposal was sent to the standing committee who raised a concern about those class IV employees who have been on a waiting list since 2009 when recruitments were done. The committee members said that the new recruitment would affect those who are on the waiting list and so they had asked for an explanation from the BMC officials.

Reservation quota for trainee candidates

On Wednesday, when the proposal came up on board, Shiv Sena’s Mangesh Satamkar, Rajul Patel, house leader Yashwant Jadhav demanded that some of the candidates who are on the waiting list should get a chance in the upcoming recruitment. At the same time, Sena’s Sanjay Ghadi demanded that there should be a reservation quota for trainee candidates.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Vijay Singhal said that the petition filed by the candidates who are on the waiting list has not come on board for discussion. He added that the BMC will adhere to the court’s decision about the petition.

4 lakh applications are expected

The civic body is expecting around 4 lakh applications in which 2 lakh applications will come in open and SC/SCT category.

The whole process of filling up forms will be online which will be taken care by Mahaonline Limited company (enrolment agency) said general admin commissioner Sudhir Naik.
