BMC to take back open plots

Mumbai – As per the new policy, the BMC will take over its open plots. The civic body has even taken possession of the 36 open plots out of 216 in the city. The remaining open plots will be taken over soon, municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta informed the standing committee. Many of these open plots are currently in the possession of institutes controlled by Shiv Sena leaders. As the municipal commissioner officially announced the decision after the demand from opposition parties, it seems to be setback for the ruling party, Shiv Sena. The concerned institutes are being served notices to vacate these plots. Meanwhile, Mehta made it clear that those open plots which are maintained well will be given those institutes. The people will now use these plots free of cost.
