On Wednesday, March 2, the Bombay High Court voiced its discontent over the State Executive Committee's February 25 decision to continue curbs on non-fully vaccinated and permit only those fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel by local trains amongst other public transport facilities as well as visit malls and workplaces, reports stated.

According to accounts, the division bench remarked that they made a mistake and expressed hope as well as trust that the government would take a decision. This comment comes in the aftermath of the Maharashtra government apprising it of its resolution to continue the curbs on non-vaccinated in regards to public transportation

Based on narratives, the bench then referred to its earlier order of February 22 wherein it had noted the state's assurance that it was willing to withdraw its three circulars that enforced restrictions on those not vaccinated against coronavirus.

The Bombay HC then went on to observe that its decision to allow the state government to take a decision on February 25 in cognizance of its observations had not been heeded. It added that considering its observations in the previous order, it hoped the SEC would consider the fundamental rights of the citizens and make decisions accordingly.

However, since the curbs were continued, it allowed the petitioners to file fresh proceedings to challenge the new SOPs, cited reports. To this, the special counsel of the state submitted the fresh SOPs in course of the hearing of the two PILs. After going through the decision, the bench went on to express its anguish over it and disposed of the two PILs.
