On June 28, 2021, BRIDGE Training programme (Bosch’s Response to India’s Development and Growth through Employability Enhancement) was launched adding one more feather to the community outreach programme of the Bombay YMCA. It was inaugurated at YMCA Andheri.

The training programme is a pioneering Bosch CSR program that helps fulfilling the growing need for skilled manpower across sectors in India. 

The project was inaugurated at the hands of District Governor, Rtn. Sunnil Mehra, a joint programme with Rotary Club of Mumbai Royales. Jason Samuel, President, Bombay YMCA, Paul George, CEO and General Secretary, Bombay YMCA, Leonard Salins, Dy. General Secretary and other Senior Secretaries of Bombay YMCA were present on the occasion.

BOMBAY YMCA is the 145-year-old organisation having branches at various location, in the city and across the nation, and catering to the community needs and especially into sports.

This three-month short-term program to be conducted at YMCA Andheri has been designed and developed by Bosch with focus on employability and life skills and delivered by Bosch through BRIDGE Centers across India. The programme focuses on 12th Std dropouts from economically poor background. The 12 week course is divided into: Soft skills (for five weeks), Industry-specific and Job skills (for 2 weeks), Social Skills (for 1 week), On-the-Job Training (for four weeks) with 100 per cent job guarantee.

The pass out from the course so far has been successful in securing a employment in Automotive Dealerships, Telecommunications, Hospitality, Retail Outlets, ITES/BPO. The typical job roles BRIDGE candidates have received include, but not limited to Customer Service Assistant, Sales Assistant, Warehouse Assistant, Spare Parts Assistant, Retail Assistant.
