IIT-Bombay had submitted a report to Central Railways to shut down the Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Dombivli. Taking this report into consideration, CR has written a letter to the Commissioner of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) requesting them to close the bridge as soon as possible for repair work.

It has also submitted a detailed report on how the traffic will be diverted and controlled. The CR's letter to KDMC stated that to safeguard the road and railway commuters, it is crucial to follow the guidelines by IIT-Bombay. The cost of repair will be allocated by KDMC. If the bridge goes under construction, it will add to the traffic woes of the city as the ROB is very crucial in connecting the east-west link of the city.
