According to a Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) official, a chemical tanker overturned on the Ghodbunder Road in Thane this morning, August 17.
The police and fire brigade officials, regional disaster management cell (RDMC) and other officials rushed to the spot.
However, no casualty has been reported so far, added TMC official.
The civic body informed that the accident took place around 4.30 am on Tuesday, August 17, on Ghodbunder Road.
Shedding light on the incident, Thane civic body's (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam said that the drunk driver of the chemical tanker (MH 04 GF 4225) was on his way from Mumbai to Gujarat. The tanker overturned near Gaimukh.
The rescue operation was successfully completed by 8:15 am and the officials pulled the tanker to the side of the road to ensure smooth traffic movement, he added.
