
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced in a statement in the Legislative Council that CIDCO will reduce the prices of houses in Navi Mumbai by 10 percent across different categories. With this decision, homes will now be available at more affordable rates, making the dream of owning a house in Navi Mumbai easier for the common man.
Speaking on the matter, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde said that CIDCO has constructed around 17,000 houses in areas such as Kharghar, Vashi, Kharkopar, Taloja, Ulwe, Kalamboli, Kamothe, and Panvel in Navi Mumbai. The lottery process for these houses will be completed within the next two months. Before that, the government decided to reduce housing prices to provide relief to citizens. Prices of houses under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Low Income Group) categories will be reduced by 10 percent.
Providing further details, Shinde said that this decision has been taken to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Housing for All” vision. As a result, common citizens will be able to purchase good-quality government homes at affordable prices.
