The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), on Wednesday, November 18, announced the clean survey competition, organised under 'Swachh Sarvekshan 2021.' 

Those interested in participating in this competition can apply till 3 pm on November 27, 2020. A total of 13 winners will be chosen across various categories and awarded a cash prize of INR 4.5 lakh. Selection of the winners will be done based on hygiene checks of residential complexes, mohallas, hospitals, hotels, schools, market associations, government offices etc. within the limits of the corporation. Besides this, officials will be awarding certificates to the winners too.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Civil Affairs has laid down the criteria for the same and the BMC is considering applications currently. Guidelines issued by the Central Government state that the competition will be held on the basis of hygienic inspection of the above-mentioned locations across all 24 wards of BMC, and officials will have the final call to choose the winners.

Entries with incomplete information and details will be rejected without any notice.

The highlight of this year's competition will be jingles, drawings, murals, videos, murals and street plays on waste management, sorting, composting 3R principle and solid waste management. Winners of all the contest will be awarded prize money of INR 10,000 each, i.e., 50,000 collectively.
