Public sector company Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has cut down the prices of natural gas – Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) used in vehicles and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) which is used in households.

The reduction in gas prices has been implemented from Thursday night. The MGL has taken this step after a drastic reduction in domestically produced gas prices.

The price of CNG in Mumbai and surrounding areas has been reduced by 2.04 per kg and PNG by 1.19 per standard cubic meter (SCM)," the company said in a statement.

As per the revised prices, the CNG rates have come down to 49.95 per kg while the PNG will be sold at 30.60 per cubic meter (slab 1) and 36.20 per SCM (slab 2).
