Contract workers protest

Chembur- BMC’s safai workers, who work on contract basis, staged a protest on Friday at M west ward.
From 2013 to 2015, these workers have not got their six per cent leave encashment and incentives. They have complained as well but they were not entertained. Angry workers carried out the protest and demanded the civic officer to take action in next two days. “If civic officials of M west don’t take any action, then we will launch an indefinite fast,” said Dadarao Patekar, deputy president, Vahatuk Shramik Sangh.
