Dharavi - Shiv Sena shakha Dharavi pramukh Kiran Kale has alleged that the administration of G-North Ward has laid the inferior quality roof tops on two municipal schools in Dharavi. When he, along with Sena office-bearers Nandu Shinde, Suresh Kadam and Ambu Arsan, reached G-North Ward office in Dadar, the concerned official was speechless on the expose of Sena activists, said Kale. He further added that Anwar Shaikh and Wahida Asif Mulla informed Kale that inferior quality roof tops were being placed on the Urdu medium on MG Road in Dharavi. When Kale reached the spot to get the information, he found the allegations true. Kale immediately called an official of the Vitraj Construction and enquired about this. He also informed about this to SIC sub engineer Sushma Gupta who confirmed that the used sheet was of polypropylene asbestos and not of the cement. The contractor is being directed to stop the roofing of these schools and sheet has been sent for testing in a lab. If it is proved wrong, all sheets laid on the school by the said contractor will be changed.
