The grievous situation in Ukraine, owing to its conflict with Russia has caught the eye of the world. A war-like condition has developed between the two countries. It has been reported that people living in different parts of India, including Maharashtra's Mumbai, are stuck in Ukraine. 

While the government is working on a war footing to bring them back, the state government is also attempting to contact the stranded students of Maharashtra. In a press release, the Mumbai City District Collector Rajeev D. Nivatkar has appealed that if any citizen or student of Mumbai is stranded in Ukraine, they should contact the District Control Room at Mumbai City Collectorate.

District Collector Rajeev D. Nivatkar has appealed to any citizen or student of Mumbai stranded in Ukraine to contact the district control room, district collector office, Mumbai city on 022- 22664232 and mumbaicitync@gmail.com.

On the other hand, the Union Ministry of External Affairs has also set up a helpline in New Delhi for students who are believed to be stranded in Ukraine. The toll-free number is 1800118797 and the phone number is 011-23012113/23014105/23017905 and the fax number is 011-23088124. One can also contact the helpline via email at statusroom@mea.gov.in.

Moreover, on Wednesday, February 23, Maharashtra Minister of Higher Education and Technical Education, Uday Samant took to Twitter saying that 1200 students from the state are stuck in Ukraine owing to the warlike condition between Ukraine and Russia.
