A terrifying incident took place as the cooker exploded in a hotel near Thakurli station on Tuesday, January 12. A 40-year-old named Kalai Selvan, who is the owner of the hotel, was seriously injured in the blast. He along with his wife, Mayuri runs the hotel named 'Hotel Saubhagya New Kitchen' located in Thakurli area of Dombivli.
The owners of the hotel are the residents of Vijay Guruprem Society in Saraswat Colony. They prepare vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals in the kitchen and even offer parcel services (to go services).
On Tuesday morning, January 12, a customer had ordered a Chicken Handi around 11:30 am. Soon after the order was placed, Selva himself went to cook the meat required for making the chicken dish in an aluminium cooker. After some time, the cooker exploded loud enough to fit the ears.
Selvan was seriously injured in the blast due to the blown lid of the cooker. He was hit on the head and fell to the ground in a pool of blood. The injured is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital and his condition is critical, doctors said. The case has been registered at Ramnagar police station they are investigating the matter.
