Preparations for the upcoming Ganeshotsav have been accelerated across Mumbai and Panvel, with administrative efforts being directed towards ensuring a seamless, vibrant, and environmentally responsible celebration. In Mumbai, a high-level coordination meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha at the BMC D Ward office. Senior civic officials, police personnel, and representatives of numerous Ganesh Mandals were in attendance.

During the meeting, the concerns of Mandal office-bearers were heard, and immediate redressal of their issues was instructed. The traffic department was directed to ensure the removal of abandoned and wrongly parked vehicles, which often cause bottlenecks during the arrival and immersion of idols. The necessity of using the single-window online permission system for all procedural clearances was stressed to avoid last-minute delays.

It was assured that core facilities, such as drinking water, sanitation, and seating for devotees, would be effectively arranged. It was also announced that Ganeshotsav had been officially recognized as a State Festival. Plans were unveiled to enhance public participation and create a festive atmosphere in areas like Tardeo, Girgaon, Walkeshwar, Khetwadi, and Lamington Road, with support from BMC, BEST, and the police department. The oversight of preparations will be managed by a local committee. Citizens were urged to observe the festival joyously while abiding by legal and safety guidelines.

In Panvel and Navi Mumbai, significant steps have been initiated by the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) to promote an orderly and eco-conscious celebration. An administrative meeting was conducted at the Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Auditorium, where Ganesh Mandals were briefed on the newly launched digital system for pandal permissions.

The system, introduced to simplify the application process for smaller mandals, is expected to reduce delays and enhance transparency. It was explained by DMC Ganesh Shete that this initiative would also allow smoother coordination between the police department and the municipal corporation. Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh highlighted that the PMC would act as a facilitator between agencies like CIDCO and MSEDCL to accelerate the permit approval process.

With infrastructural support, digital tools, and inter-departmental cooperation in place, Ganeshotsav 2025 is being positioned as a model celebration, combining tradition with thoughtful planning and civic responsibility.
