The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that on Monday, July 12, it will resume the vaccination drives at the state and civic-run centres across the city after a gap of three days.

According to reports, due to a lack of adequate stocks of vaccines, the inoculation drive was cancelled on July 9 and 10 at government and municipal centres in Mumbai. However, the vaccination program was closed on Sunday as a regular off.

On Monday, vaccination will take place between 9 am and 5 pm. The vaccination centres take 50 per cent of beneficiaries by appointment, and 50 per cent through on-spot walk-ins registrations.

The first and second doses of Covishield will be administered to people above 18 years of age and 45 plus as well.

Meanwhile, Covaxin will be available for those only taking their second doses. The citizens need to carry the certificate of the first dose to the vaccination centres.

Besides, the second dose of the vaccine is available only at these seven centres for citizens travelling to other countries for jobs, education, or the Tokyo Olympics, 28 days after taking the first dose.

Currently, Mumbai has 401 vaccination centres, of which 283 are BMC centres, 20 state government-operated, and 98 are private.
