Mumbai records 1,033 new cases of COVID-19

The recovery rate of the Mumbai district has increased to 73 per cent and the doubling rate is at 68 days. More than 4.5 lakh people have been tested for coronavirus as of July 26.

On Monday, the city of Mumbai recorded 1,033 new cases of coronavirus and 39 deaths.

According to a data given by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) out of the 39 deaths that were recorded 29 people had co-morbidities. Furthermore, 24 of them were male and 15 females. 1 death was of a person below the age of 40 years, 26 were above the age of 60 years and 12 were between the age of 40 to 60 years.

The recovery rate of the Mumbai district has increased to 73 per cent and the doubling rate is at 68 days. More than 4.5 lakh people have been tested for coronavirus as of July 26. The active containment zone including slums and chawls is 636 and active sealed buildings are 6,048.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai is more than 1 lakh with more than six thousand deaths and more than eighty thousand people being recovered.

The total number of active cases in the city are 21,812 and 1,706 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours.

Currently, the total number of coronavirus cases in the state of Maharashtra stands at 3,83,723 and 2,21,944 people have been recovered from coronavirus. The lockdown in the state was extended till July 31. Some relaxations in the rules of lockdown have been given only in areas that are not under the containment zone. This has been done so that the economic activities can resume while the state city continues to wage a war against the virus.
