Mumbai reports 1,091 fresh COVID-19 cases, 45 deaths in one day

13,92,380 coronavirus patients in the state have recovered until now. The recovery rate in Maharashtra stands at 86.5 per cent.

The number of coronavirus cases in Maharastra and Mumbai has been increasing on a daily basis. This has become a major concern for the state administration. On Tuesday, 213 people died due to the coronavirus in the state. 

Meanwhile, the administration in Mumbai has managed to gain some control over the COVID-19 deaths and increasing cases. Despite increasing coronavirus cases, the Maharashtra government recently allowed metro and monorail to operate from in Mumbai under ‘Mission Begin Again’. 

The rise in COVID-19 cases has been reported after the government eased lockdown restrictions. As per the data released by the public health department, on Tuesday, 45 COVID-19 patients died in Mumbai. 

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is making efforts to control the number of rising coronavirus cases in Mumbai. However, 1,091 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in the city. 

Nearly 2,14,375 coronavirus patients have recovered in Mumbai till now while the total number of COVID-19 cases remain 2,44,260. As of October 20, the active cases in Mumbai are 19,553 and the death toll in the metropolitan has reached 9,864. 

On Tuesday, Maharashtra reported 8,151 new coronavirus patients and 213 deaths. However, nearly 7,429 coronavirus patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital. 

13,92,380 coronavirus patients in the state have recovered until now. The recovery rate in Maharashtra stands at 86.5 per cent.

Out of 82,51,234 laboratory samples, 16,09,516 have been tested positive (19.51%) for COVID-19 until today. 

Currently, there are 24,34,687 people in home isolation in Maharashtra followed by 23,488 people are in institutional quarantine. The fatality rate in the state remains at 2.64 per cent.
